Ho iniziato questo libro dopo averne letto uno che mi ha straziato l’anima. Quindi avevo tante speranze che mi salvasse dal blocco, ma pochissime aspettative.
E invece…
Una storia ambientata circa 25 anni nel futuro, dove le possessioni demoniache sono all’ordine del giorno perché in realtà i demoni non sono creature del male, ma semplicemente creature di un altro mondo con altre capacità.
È compito degli esorcisti salvare l’umanità da se stessa e dai demoni che vogliono invadere la Terra.
L’esorcista più famoso di tutti è Jon, il nostro protagonista, ed è un’esorcista decisamente diverso dagli altri. Per esempio lui è stato posseduto… da un demone molto potente 🤭 e questo ha causato nel suo corpo dei mutamenti che lo hanno reso più forte in tutto.
Beh, il nostro carissimo Jon, vuole chiudere un portale che si sta aprendo con l’inferno, e come lo fa? Con l’aiuto di un ibrido, ossia un umano che è stato posseduto da un demone che ha poi assorbito la sua anima, quindi fondamentalmente un demone nel corpo di un umano, che presenta non pochi mutamenti fisici e non.
Posso dire che ho veramente amato ogni singolo capitolo di questo libro? Sia i capitoli del presente che quelli del passato dove capiamo come Jon è stato posseduto e da chi.
Veramente tantissimi complimenti all’autrice per aver preso un argomento molto inflazionato dal cinema e dalla letteratura fantasy moderna, e averlo reso originale e super coinvolgente. Perfetto per chi, come me, ha sempre avuto una cotta per Constantine 😏.

I started this book after one that broke my soul. I hade so much hope that this one could save me from the reader slump, but zero expectations. But…
A story set 25 years in the future, where demonic possessions are a normal thing, because demons are not evil creature in a bible sense, but just a different species from another world. It’s exorcists responsibility to save humanity from demons who wants to invade Earth. The most famous exorcist of all is Jon, our MMC, he is different from the other exorcists. He was possessed for a long time by a… very powerful demon, that caused many changes in his body. Our dear Jon wants to close a portal with Hell to stop the possessions. And who will help him? An ibrid, a human who was possessed for a long time by a demon and who absorbed their soul. Basically a demon in a human body, but a body with many many phisical changes. I loved every chapter of this book, the present and the past ones. Getting to slowly understand who was the Jon’s demon was really exciting.
The author was so good at making this theme, a very used one, into a new and an exciting one. It was super fun to read it, and I absolutely fell in love with the MMCs.
This book is for everyone who ever dreamed of seeing Constantine fell in love with a demon 😏.
